Canberra Emergency Care Centre

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Location: Canberra, ACT

Size: 482 SQM

Canberra Specialist Emergency Care is an independent private emergency department in the ACT. The project converted an existing Class 5 commercial tenancy into a Class 9a healthcare facility.

Perfect Practice managed the project from site feasibility through to completion. The scope included schematic and detailed design, consultant coordination, statutory approvals and construction.

The facility includes 12 treatment bays across paediatric isolation, ambulatory care, acute treatment and procedure zones. Infrastructure upgrades included fire services, improved access and egress, an ambulance bay, a stretcher platform lift and a medical gas store.

Early planning resolved electrical easement constraints and water authority requirements while preserving the clinical brief. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget, creating a dedicated facility for specialist emergency care outside a hospital campus.
